Netflix Dual & Spoken Subtitles
Watch Netflix with two subtitle languages on screen at the same time, and have one of them read aloud. Learn a language from the shows you already watch.
What it does
Two languages at once
Pick any two subtitle languages Netflix offers for the title. Both appear on the video, one line above the other.
Read aloud
Hear the chosen line spoken by your browser's built-in voices for free, or by an AI voice through your own OpenRouter or OpenAI key.
Shadowing mode
Every line plays twice, once per language, and the video waits until the spoken line is finished. Made for language learners.
Your style
Font, size, weight, colour, background, edge and position for each line separately.
Dialogue filter
While a translated line is spoken, the original dialogue is lowered and the music and effects kept, so the two voices do not fight.
Nothing collected
No account, no server, no tracking. Settings stay in your Chrome profile and API keys stay on your device.
How to use it
- Step 1
Add the extension to Chrome.
- Step 2
Open any Netflix video.
- Step 3
Click the extension icon and choose your two languages under “Dual subtitles”. Optionally turn on “Read aloud” in the Voice tab.
AI voices are optional and billed by OpenRouter or OpenAI under your own account. The built-in browser voice is free. This extension is an independent project and is not affiliated with Netflix, Inc.
Privacy in one paragraph
The extension has no server and collects nothing. Your settings are saved in your Chrome profile. If you add an API key it is stored on your device only and sent only to the provider it belongs to, and only for the subtitle lines you chose to hear. The optional dialogue filter processes the tab’s audio in real time and never records or uploads it.
